Growing In Unity Day 4
Hi everyone! It’s Day 4 of my Growing in Unity week! I hope you’ve enjoyed my creations so far. Remember to comment here, Facebook, or Instagram for a chance to win gift credit to Unity Stamp Co.
I wanted to try my hand at monochromatic coloring. I started off by stamping the Sweet as Honey floral stamp in Twilight by Catherine Pooler. Then I used my Altenew Artist markers in Morning Frost (WG01), Evening Gray (WG03), and Moon Rock (WG 05). After I finished coloring, I placed the piece back into my stamp positioner and stamped again in Twilight to bring the details back. I also added some metallic silver pen on the stamens. I used Distress Watercolor Pencil in Tea Dye with a lot of water for a light wash in the background. I thought the white was too stark and thought the lighter brown softened the look.
For the sentiment, I used a sticker sentiment that was a freebie which came with a purchase from Unity. I added it to a piece of cardstock, trimmed it with my scissors, lined it with metallic silver pen, and adhered it with foam. I thought the card could use a bow, so I used a sheer gray ribbon to make a bow for the top. Finally, I added some pearl stickers in 2 different shades of gray.
I hope you like my take on a monochromatic card. Let me know if you've ever created something similar.
Have a great day!
