World Cardmaking Day 2024

Hi Everyone! Were you able to participate in World Cardmaking Day this year? If so, what did you create?

In case you missed it, I was a guest on the 12 Hour Marathon Livestream event on the LV Handcrafted YouTube Channel. You can catch the replay to see all the fun activities!

First, I was on the fun game of Pick, Skip, or Craft! In this game, the guests pick 3 parameters and the live chat picks 2. This means I had no clue what I would need to create (besides the one parameter I chose) until the Live. It's a great way to stretch those creative muscles. I ended up making a double Z fold card that included a dog with wings. Crazy! To see how I came up with the concept, go watch that episode!

I was on again later for the last episode which was Coloring with Meg. It was a relaxing way to wind down and end the day. There was no pressure to create any card. We simply were coloring and chatting.

I showed everyone how to make your own pattern paper with Pan Pastels! For this fun and easy technique, check out the episode. I did something similar last year in order to create my own pattern paper for Kendra's Card Challenge 11. I made a reel on Instagram showing the process of how I made those papers. I did it a little differently this time around, learning from the first trial.

To finish the night, I colored a free digital stamp provided by Jessica Lynn Original just for those who participated in the live event! It's called Happy Halloween Bat Cupcake! I used a combination of Altenew Artist markers and Scrapbook.com glitter brush markers.

I hope you check out the Livestream! Let me know which episode was your favorite!
