Fall Inspired Pinwheel Card

Hi Everyone! Today I'm participating in another hop on Instagram. This time the theme was either Red and Orange or Yellow and Orange.

I made 2 cards for this hop as I realized after completing my first card, it was red and yellow; I didn't add orange. However, the red is more of an orange red, plus there are a few orange leaves in the sentiment. I think it counts!

For both cards, I used all scraps from my stash. This fun fall paper was leftover from a mini album I made last year. I don't quite remember the collection name, but it is from DCWV. There's lovely foiling in this collection!

First I cut scrap pieces of solid cardstock to 2 5/8" x 2 5/8." I adhered them together to form a star shape. Then, I cut squares of pattern paper to 1.25" x 1.25."

The first pattern paper square I adhered to one corner only on one side, leaving a slight border. This is important as the last square in this design needs to tuck under the first square. The next square of a different pattern I adhered in the next corner, overlapping the first square. I continued this all around.

The last square I tucked under the first and glued that piece down. This creates a pinwheel! In the center, I used a pearl sticker from Honey Bee Stamps.

For the background, I used a scrap of the same collection trimmed to 4" x 5.25." I glued this piece to an A2 brown panel. On the bottom of the pattern paper panel, I adhered a cut apart with the foiled sentiment "Happy Fallidays." Finally, I added the pinwheel onto the card with foam dots.

The second card was the same concept, but in landscape. I also added yellow pattern foiled strips to the top and bottom.

The scripty hello is from Lawn Fawn. I stacked multiple die cuts for dimension. I also off set one die cut in brown to give it an orange shadow layer.

What an easy way to use scraps! I hope you'll be inspired to use your scraps. Have a great day!
