Haunted Sweater

Hi Everyone! I am so excited for today's card!! For the #spookynsweet hop on Instagram, the theme choices were Haunted or Sweater. I decided to create a haunted sweater!

I started off by sketching the ghost in a sweater with a pencil. Once I was satisfied with how it looked, I outlined everything with my Micron fineliner pen and filled in the eyes and mouth. For the pumpkin, I used a small pumpkin stamp from the Spellbinders Fall Gnomes set.

I colored the image with my Altenew Artist markers. I used clear Wink of Stella over the pumpkin for added sparkle. Next, I fussy cut the ghost. I used some thicker cardstock to back the image for more stability.

Recently I went through my large pattern paper collection to destash, and I found this orange 6x6 piece with bats. It may be a Stampin' Up retired paper. I'm not quite sure. It was located in one of many Ziplocks of pattern paper a kind lady gave to me years ago during my clinical rotation when she learned I made cards and paper crafted. 

I cut the bat paper to 4.25"x5.5" for the background panel. I used a strip of scrap black cardstock measuring 2"x5.5" on the left side of the panel. I lined that piece with teal glitter tape to match the ghost's sweater.

For the sentiment, I pulled out my peg stamps; I wanted a wonkier look for this card. I stamped "Hey Boo" with white pigment ink on black cardstock and added white embossing powder. After melting the powder, I used a small square frame die to cut it out. I used that same die to cut out an orange frame.

I placed the ghost on the panel with foam dots. Then, I placed the sentiment with the orange frame in the center bottom of the black strip, below the ghost. To finish the card, I added some orange gem stickers from Honey Bee Stamps in 2 corners of the sentiment and a teal matte heart sticker in the top left of the black strip.

This card was so fun to make! I hope I inspired you to try drawing your own images.
