Chocolate Pie Card

Hi Everyone! I have another Instagram hop card for you. This one was hosted by Dalis (@stamprgrl). For this week we had to choose from monster or pie.

I knew I had a pie die from Spellbinders I have yet to use. I decided to pull that out to make a chocolate pie! I used some fun papers for this card.

The pie tin is a silver sparkle paper. The whipped cream is a shimmery cream paper while the chocolate chips are a shimmery brown. Can you see the detail indentations from the dies? I added a bit of coloring with my alcohol markers for the pie crust.

The background paper is a lovely plaid with gold from Memory Box called Magnolia Plaid. I angled the pattern paper on the brown card and cut off the extra. To add more definition between the base and patter paper, I adhered an iridescent white glitter tape. I rounded the top corners with a 4mm corner punch.

In order to make the pie stand out, I die cut a scalloped circle out of iridescent vellum. When angled in the light, you can see greens and purples. I popped the pie up on foam squares.

For the sentiment, I die cut the word "Pie" from the set in both the cream and pattern paper. I placed the pieces off set to give a shadow. I couldn't find any stamps that said "sweet as" so I just hand wrote it onto a scrap of the shimmer cream paper. I rounded one corner and angled the other and adhered it to the top left. To finish the card, I added a couple of brown pearls from Honey Bee Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed today's card! Check out Instagram for the card hop!
